Oswestry Community Action (Qube)

OCA, provides support through its Volunteer Centre based at the Qube in Oswestry and through outreach activities across the north of Shropshire. The centre exists to encourage people to volunteer and to give the help needed by groups and organisations to involve volunteers in their work. OCA provides:

• regular drop in sessions in a variety of public venues to match volunteers with local organisations needing their skills
• promotion of volunteering vacancies through the national do-in.org website and at community events
• one-to-one support to organisations with volunteer management, developing best practice, helping volunteers with additional support needs, monitoring and evaluation, finding funding to support their work
• Charity Markets in Oswestry and Market Drayton to help groups promote their work and raise funds
• coordination of Volunteer Coordinators networks to enable VolunteeringCoordinators to share information and help one another
• signposting to other specialist advice and training (eg HR)
