Oswestry Community Action (OCA) aims to improve the quality of life and empower members of the community marginalised through age, health, disability or rural isolation.

It does this by proving a range of services:

Community Transport
OCA operates the Dial-a-Ride and Community Cars service for Oswestry and the surrounding district.  This provides transport for those not able to access public transport due to age, disability and rural isolation enabling them to see friends and family, attend medical appointments, access training, attend day centres, go on day trips and much more. http://qube-oca.org.uk/transport

Shopmobility
OCA runs a scooter and wheelchair hire service for the community and sells mobility aids. http://qube-oca.org.uk/shop-mobility

Care Information
OCA provides shopping services for the elderly and people with disabilities.  This can be emergency shopping for someone just out of hospital or weekly shopping delivered to the persons door.  We also provide information about and signposting to other care services available, advocacy and art classes such as PaintAble.  OCA also manages the Shropshire Care Information Project.  http://qube-oca.org.uk/care

Information and advice – a range of information is held at Qube from public transport information to local events, training, and how to access local services.

Volunteering

OCA has an accredited Volunteer Centre, recruiting volunteers from the community and helping them access local volunteering opportunities.  We also promote volunteering and working across North Shropshire, provide infrastructure support to the organisations providing services across the area. http://qube-oca.org.uk/volunteering

Arts and Health
Qube has a purpose-built contemporary gallery space for art exhibitions and hosts both national touring exhibitions and exhibitions by local artists.  Qube Arts is also instrumental in engaging the community in creative activity through its outreach work and art classes and workshops. http://qube-oca.org.uk/arts

Training
Qube is developing multi-media training such as the creative use of computers, producing a DVD or how to use social networking sites.  OCA also provides MIDAS training for transport volunteers.
