Energy Advice Drop-in Event

Do you need ideas on ways to cut your energy bills?

As part of Citizens Advice Big Energy Week (16th to 21st Jan) The Community Council of Shropshire are hosting a drop-in advice event on Thursday 19th Jan at Craven Arms Community Centre between 10am and 3pm.

The aim of the event is to help households understand how they can switch tariffs or suppliers and get help to become more energy efficient.

There will be advice avaliable from various organisations including:

  • The Credit Union
  • Age UK
  • Shropshire Council
  • Mayfair Church Stretton
  • Stretton Climate Care
  • Shropshire Housing Association
  • The Community Council of Shropshire

Lizzy Thain from the Community Council of Shropshire will also be present to talk about about the Shropshire oil buying syndicate which is becoming very popular! The scheme is aimed at bringing communities together to make the most of joint buying power so that greater savings can be made and passed on to customers.

Anyone who wants advice on saving cash on their energy bills can come along to this event, we will have experts on hand to give advice on a range of issues including:

  • Switching suppliers (to receive advice please bring copies of your energy bills) 
  • Insulation
  • Energy saving tips
  • Benefits advice
  • Free energy saving bulbs
